Interbranch Luncheon, February 2006

On Saturday, February 11, fifteen members and guests of our branch attended the annual Interbranch luncheon at The Royal Scandia Restaurant in Solvang.  The keynote speaker was Dorothy Whiteside who recounted her adventures as a Peace Corps worker in Lesotho.  She related many of her positive and a few of the negative experiences during her two year commitment.  She worked with the villagers to combat the AIDS epidemic and offered insightful observations about the customs and status of the women in these impoverished communities.
